Link popularity is the most influential factor in determining a web site’s search engine rankings. SEO’s (a common acronym for professional search engine “optimizers” or marketers) have employed various tactics over the years to build link popularity. One of the most popular these days is article submissions. There are numerous article directories eager to accept articles from webmasters. Submitting to these gets you incoming links from the directories themselves, but then the effect is multiplied when webmasters wishing to build their own site’s content publish these articles and include your “bio box” with a link back to your site. Submitting to hundreds of article directories is a tedious job. For a while, I did it with software called Article Submitter Pro, but even with that software, it can take many hours to submit a single article. So I switched to Article Marketer, a service fully approved by the article directories which automatically submits the articles for me. They offer a great service, including editorial and technical advice if they feel your article needs tweaking to be more readily accepted by the directories. If you’re one of my current clients, I may already have subscribed to this service for you. If you are not, I recommend you check them out. If you sign up, do so for just a quarter (three months). Then, during the sign up process, you'll be presented with the opportunity to sign up for a year. Doing so at this stage is cheaper than signing up for a year at the outset.
